My name is Sian and I am a filmmaker & photographer, I have been working as a freelance independent filmmaker since 2015 and I filmed my first wedding in 2019 (just before the famous lockdown!).  I absolutely love the vibe of a wedding, I thrive off the excitement & the emotions of the day. There is nothing quite like capturing a day filled with such happiness and beauty; it is such a joy to be able create and tell a story with images.

I have always had a keen interest in the creative arts - particularly film & photography. I shot my first short films and photographs when I was in secondary school, I then proceeded to study Film & Theatre in London and I completed a Masters degree in Film & Philosophy where I solidified my passion for filmmaking. From 2015-2019, I created many short independent films which were exhibited in Festivals all over the world including: London, Berlin, the USA, Portugal and Ukraine.

I would say my 'vibe' is quite chilled and candid - this seems to be a reoccurring theme I have noticed in some of my reviews! I prefer to shoot in a 'documentary' style, where I hide away and focus on capturing raw emotions rather than shooting anything 'too staged'. However, a little posing can go a long way - but I prefer to go with how my clients feel on their day as everyone is different! Some clients prefer me to hide away and only capture candid moments, other clients love a photoshoot! Either way, it is up to you and we can discuss this prior to your wedding day. 

 

I send all my clients photographs and film in both colour and black & white. Stylistically, I love the vintage and black & white look, I feel this adds a lovely 'timeless' effect to images; I also feel black & white draws out so much emotion! I have my own original 1970s super 8mm film camera which I am dying to use for weddings, I am currently experimenting with this camera but I planning to soon add this option to my wedding packages - so stay tuned!

 

My work is primarily in weddings but I also shoot... well basically anything! I have worked with many charities such as Oxford Against Cutting & BetKnowMore to produce video content raising awareness for their causes. I have also filmed and edited many independent films, promo videos for small businesses, music videos, personal / family photoshoots and many events spanning from birthdays to funerals!
